CONCEPT COMES FIRST

TV Branding & Content

Fooditude TV

Fooditude, a healthy-eating kids show, had wrapped production but still had no branding. They also needed an opener, closer and title cards for the upcoming pilot.

Originally a "B" cameraman, I recognized the problem and offered a solution based on animated infographics and VO. I was immediately promoted to creative director and oversaw the branding, writing, design, animation, scoring, and soundtrack of these elements in time for the premiere.

Chicago Sky

The Chicago Sky, a WNBA team here in Chicago, needed a TV spot for their 2009 season, but they didn't have the money to produce a live-action commercial. They did, however, have a mountain of great photos. This was the result.

Tradeshow Advertising

CAPS

CAPS is a printing company that specializes in building prototypes of packaging for designers. This prototype, called a "hero" or "comp", must usually be crafted by hand out of steel, glass, plastic, paint and ink. These ads were used at printing tradeshows to communicate how beautiful and effective a "comp" from CAPS can be.

Bob Evans Restaurants

Bob Evans is a family restaurant with a brand focused on family, Midwestern values and a slower pace of life. This TV spot introduced their new food program called "Deep Dish Dinners."

Event Ad

Bob Evans Farms

Every year, travelers flock to Rio Grande, Ohio to participate in Bob Evans' "Farm Fest". Over three days, food is served, games are played, and farm activities are turned into educational and unique exhibits.

Spec Campaign

AthletiCo

One of several campaigns created for AthletiCo, a physical therapy provider based in Chicago. While AthletiCo works with all the major sports teams in the city, they needed a campaign to increase awareness among the general public. Ultimately, the client chose a more inexpensive solution, but they were enamored with the emotional and visual impact of this option.

Viral Video

Chicago Sky

Here's a "viral" idea that was too good to let money get in its way. We had no budget, but we had a client with a sense of humor and an ad agency full of gung-ho volunteers. I was proud to serve as director, d.p. and editor on this project.

Logos

Miscellaneous

A series of logos I have designed over the last few years.

Agency Identity

CCP

CCP, an ad agency based in Chicago, needed a new visual identity that seemed young, optimistic and full of potential. Cheery greens and calm, warm grays were chosen, and a minimalist layout was used to put the message to the forefront.

Cooking Oil & Packet

ADM Kao

Enova, a cooking oil produced by ADM Kao, needed a few new designs for a new oil containing plant sterols and a sesame-flavored salad dressing packet. While the products ultimately died in a committee somewhere, the designs were approved and paid for by a happy client.

Flash Work

Miscellaneous

A sampling of my Flash experience, from microsites to web banners.

In-Stadium Advertising

Bob Evans Restaurants

A multifaceted campaign to announce Bob Evans' new sponsorship of the Dayton Dragons, a minor league baseball team. The campaign included a microsite, print ads, web banners, TV, and even animations for in-stadium LEDs.

Desk Calendar

CAPS

The "Legs" calendar, given by CAPS to each and every one of their clients, centered around a fun idea: What would it be like to have an exotic career instead of being stuck at your desk all day? The calendar was to be placed on the viewer's desk where they sat, so while their upper half sent emails, their lower half could roam the Amazon or dance on stage nightly in Vegas.
